A Hudson Valley who hit a teen in the head with a hammer, fracturing his skull, has been found guilty of attempted murder and assault by a jury.
Orange County resident, Shawn Beach, age 43, of Port Jervis, was convicted on Friday, Aug. 18, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
Beach faces up to 50 in prison when sentenced, Hoovler said.
As alleged at trial, on Sunday, Dec.11, 2022, Beach swung a hammer in the direction of a woman in a residence in the City of Port Jervis.

A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for stabbing a random man who was shopping to death at a ShopRite supermarket in 2016.
Orange County resident Andrew Goodenough, age 41, of New Windsor, was sentenced on Monday, March 28 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in February.
At the time that he pleaded guilty, Goodenough admitted that on Saturday, June 11, 2016, he stabbed Michael Kohus, age 35, of Highland Falls in the neck while he was shopping at a supermarket in the Town of New Windsor, the DA's Office said.

A Hudson Valley man who walked up to a stranger at a grocery store and fatally stabbed him in the neck has pleaded guilty to murder.
Orange County resident, Andrew Goodenough, age 41, of New Windsor, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 2, to the murder of Michael Kohus, age 35, of Highland Falls in June 2016, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
