Former HS Football Co-Captain ID'd As Stamford Homicide Victim
Police have identified the 18-year-old victim shot to death on Thursday as a former Stamford High School varsity football co-captain. Capt. Richard Conklin said that Antonio Robinson was shot at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at West Avenue and Baxter Street. Antonio Robinson was a free safety for the Knights for several years ending in 2017, and a co-captain for the team. His murder was the first in the city in 18 months. Lt. Home Depot Grand Opening Features 'Neighborhood Night' In Stamford
The only new Home Depot opening this year happens to be on West Main Street in Stamford. The new store kicked off its grand opening celebration on Wednesday night, April 25 when Stamford Mayor David Martin led a "board-cutting ceremony." The event also included tours of the 140,000-square-foot store, a Kids Workshop and free food and refreshments. On Thursday, April 26, Home Depot planned to offer vendor demonstrations, giveaways and free lunch for customers. The store -- located at 1925 W. Main St. -- employs about 270 Home Depot associates.

Projected Snowfall Totals Increase As Fourth Nor'easter Nears Stamford Mayor David Martin been March's fourth Nor'easter in a month to the punch late Tuesday by declaring a snow emergency, effective at 11 p.m. March 20. Eversource reported that 2,832 electric customers in Connecticut were still without power on Thursday, March 8. Eversource has been informing the City of Stamford that its residents should expect an average of three days until power restoration, in many cases.
