Deer Park Man Man Driving With 40 Suspensions Nabbed After Fleeing, Police Say
A Long Island man with 40 suspensions on his driver's license was arrested after fleeing during a traffic stop, police reported.
Jemel Edwards, age 35, of Deer Park, was arrested in Bayport shortly after midnight on Thursday, March 3, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Edwards was driving a 2000 Nissan Altima east on Route 27 Service Road in Sayville when an officer pulled him over at the intersection of Broadway Avenue for speeding, SCPD said.
When the officer got out of the patrol car, Edwards drove away, traveling south on Nicolls Road, police reported.

Man Buys Winning $5 Million NY Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket At 7-Eleven Store
Meet New York's newest millionaire.
Long Island resident Rory Fabian, of Saint James in Suffolk County, has claimed his $5,000,000 top prize on the New York Lottery’s $5,000,000 Riches scratch-off game.
The ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven at 2160 Deer Park Ave. in Deer Park.
“I am out-of-my-mind happy,” said Fabian after claiming his ticket.
Fabian received his $5,000,000 as a single lump-sum payment of $3,255,000 after required withholdings.
Duo Nabbed For Attempting To Rob Suffolk County Bank, Police Say
A serial bank robber was among two who were busted attempting to rob a Long Island branch, police announced.
According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Mastic resident Dominic Scotto, age 31, entered Chase Bank on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, handing a teller a note demanding cash.
When the teller declined, police said that Scotto left the bank empty-handed, and he and his driver, West Islip resident Adam Postiglione, age 32, were arrested outside the bank after authorities were notified.

Long Island Woman Fatally Stabs Ex-Boyfriend's Mother, Police Say
A Long Island woman has been apprehended after police say she stabbed her ex-boyfriend and his mother, who died from injuries sustained in the incident.
The incident happened Thursday, Dec. 23 in Deer Park when Shaquela Titley, age 30, first stabbed her ex-boyfriend's mother, 85-year-old Marie Mille, to death at Mille's residence at 169 Smith Street, Suffolk County Police said.
Mille’s son, Joseph Mille then returned to the home and Titley stabbed him, police said.
