Police Search For Suspect After Derby Woman Found Murdered Following Initial Hit-Run Report
An apparent fatal hit-and-run in Connecticut is now being investigated as a homicide, police said. Officers from the Derby Police Department alerted police in Ansonia of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian who was struck at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 near the intersection of Coe Lane and North Coe Lane. Five suspects are facing charges for their roles in a 2018 Fairfield County murder and string of other violent acts, federal officials announced. A college student from Fairfield County wanted for a string of killings, a home invasion and a kidnapping been apprehended. Peter Manfredonia, 23, a 2015 Newtown High School graduate, was apprehended in Hagerstown, Maryland Wednesday night, May 27 after five days on the run. A 27-year-old man was nabbed on alleged possession of drug charges following a traffic stop. Francisco Soares, of Derby, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 7, by Milford Police after being stopped by the department's TAC Unit on an anti-crime patrol in the area of Old Gate Lane.
