Police have arrested the man who they say is responsible for leaving two pit bulls crated behind a Morris County shopping center in frigid temps. Felipe Rogelnarce, 44, of Dover, was arrested and charged after the dogs were found outside unattended in a crate behind a shopping center in freezing temperatures in Mt. A 37-year-old Morris County man was arrested earlier this month for uploading child pornography to a social media platform, authorities announced. Richard Ferrarie-Lofredo, of Dover, uploaded media files depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. Woman Killed, Man Severely Hurt As Fire Collapses Morris County Home: Prosecutor
A 98-year-old woman was killed and a 71-year-old man hospitalized with serious injuries as a fire raced through and collapsed a Morris County home on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 19. The Roxbury Police and Fire Departments responded to the blaze at a home on Mooney Road in Ledgewood around 1 p.m. and found the man had escaped with severe injuries. Morris County Caregiver Charged With Harassing Client: Police
A 63-year-old caregiver in Morris County was charged with harassing one of her clients, authorities said. Police in Denville responded to harassment report at a local home around 1:25 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, Capt. Jeffrey Tucker said in a release. A follow-up investigation led to the arrest of Luz Schilling, 63, of Dover, on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Schilling was charged with harassment and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance in Denville Township Municipal Court.

Morris County is mourning the loss of a high school senior following a battle with a long illness. Luna Marcela Cabrera Castro died Friday, Nov. 17, her obituary says. She was 18. A 65-year-old passenger was killed and a driver seriously injured in an early morning crash on Route 80 on Tuesday, Nov. 21, state police confirmed. A Hyundai passenger vehicle and Ford van were heading westbound when the Hyundai attempted a lane change and struck the Ford near milepost 34.4 in Rockaway Township around 6:50 a.m., NJSP Trooper Troy McNair told Daily Voice. The Hyundai passenger, Maxima Arcibal, of Dover, was killed in the crash, while the driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Officials have identified the victim of a fatal NJ Transit train strike as a 21-year-old man. Zain Bhatti, of Flanders, was struck by Morris & Essex Line train 6635 just after 3:30 p.m., just west of the Madison station (Morris County) on Tuesday, Nov. 7, NJ Transit officials said. The train had departed Penn Station New York at 2:32 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 4:05 p.m. There were no injuries to the 60 customers or the crew on board. Man Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train In North Jersey
A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train Tuesday, Nov. 7. The Morris & Essex Line train struck the man just west of the Madison station around 3:30 p.m., an NJ Transit official said. None of the 60 passengers on the train were hurt. The train had left Penn Station and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 4:05 p.m. Rail service was experiencing an hour delay in both directions at 5:50 p.m., NJ Transit officials said.

Man Found Lying On Ground In Morris County Pronounced Dead
Police in Morris County are investigating after a man lying in the street was pronounced dead. The man's body was found around 5:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at South Morris and Boonton streets in Dover, Police Chief Jonathan Delaney said. The man was later pronounced dead and an investigation into natural causes by the Dover Detective Bureau, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, was under way.
