The owners of an Essex County-based school bus company whose driver OD'd and crashed with 12 special-needs kids on board hired criminals and drug addicts, put unsafe vehicles on the road and tried to cover it all up, state authorities charged.
Ahmed Mahgoub, 62, and his wife, Faiza Ibrahim, 47, both of East Hanover, knowingly hired drivers for F&A Transportation who “did not hold valid commercial driver’s licenses or required license endorsements, as well as drivers who had criminal histories or were using illegal drugs,” Attorney General Gurbir S. Two men including one arrested for an armed robbery have been charged with using drugs to force a woman into prostitution for more than month in North Jersey, authorities said.
William Wilson, 47, of Belvidere, NJ and Jeremiah Forde, 39, of Budd Lake, forced the adult female into acts of prostitution out of a Hanover hotel, then collected the proceeds, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker, Hanover Police Chief Mark Roddy said.

A pimp who ran a sex trafficking ring in Springfield and Hartford has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
William Coleman, 49, of Springfield, has been sentenced to 186 months in prison and five years of supervised police, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts, said. In February, Coleman pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges.
From 2016-2018, Coleman ran a prostitution ring in the Springfield and Hartford areas as well as other parts of Connecticut, the Attorney’s Office said.

Stony Point Driver Found Passed Out, Vehicle Running, With Drugs, Booze, Loaded Gun, Police Say
A Stony Point driver who was found passed out with the motor running Wednesday morning in a park near the Rockland border was carrying a loaded handgun, authorities said.
Officers responding to a 7:45 a.m. call found Jeremy T. Garcia, 22, out cold behind the wheel -- either from drugs or alcohol, Northvale, NJ Police Chief Howard Ostrow said.
They smelled burnt marijuana and saw prescription drugs on the passenger seat, he said.
The officers woke Garcia after several attempts, after which he filed field sobriety tests, the chief said.

Man Tased After Resisting Arrest, Attempting To Escape From Officers, Police Say
A 30-year-old Nanuet man was arrested by Ramapo police, but not before being tased to get him under control.
The incident took place around 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, when officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on S. Pascack Road, in the Village of Chestnut Ridge, the department said.
Once on the scene, officers located the unnamed man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, police said.
The man gave officers a fictitious name and date of birth.
A search of the man turned up hypodermic needles and a substance believed to be fentanyl, police said.
