UPDATE: A 94-year-old widower from Bergenfield was charged with the hit-and-run death of a teacher from Dumont, authorities confirmed on Friday. Ernest F. Hofmann was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup that struck Elizabeth Feliciano-Rosa, 54, as she crossed Madison Avenue at Washington Avenue at 5:19 p.m. Thursday, March 14, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Hofmann kept going, the prosecutor said. Cat Burglars Flee With Dumont Resident's Wallet After Failing To Find Vehicle Key Fob
Burglars snatched a wallet from a sleeping Dumont resident in the middle of the night Saturday after apparently failing to find a vehicle key fob, authorities said. The Margaret Court resident awoke shortly before 2:30 a.m. March 2 to find a window open, Dumont Police Chief Brian Joyce said. A computer tech from Dumont who'd been freed pending trial after authorities charged him with sexually assaulting an underage teen was rearrested after authorities said they found homemade child porn.
