Driver Who Fled Cops At 100 MPH Captured In Secaucus Hotel: Fairfield PD
A 25-year-old Fairfield man was arrested and charged over the weekend after leading police on a 100 miles per hour pursuit, authorities said. Police originally attempted to stop Deyah Shaabneh on Wednesday, April 24, when officers saw his vehicle had a fake license plate, Fairfield police said. Shaabneh failed to stop and instead, sped down Sand Road going 100 mph, police said. Officers did not pursue him out of concern for public safety, police said. New Jersey is continuing to invest in production. The New Jersey Economic Developing Authority announced on Wednesday, April 10, it has approved $9.5 million in funding to support five projects under the Film and Digital Media Studio Infrastructure Program. Of that grant money, $3.5 million will be going to Jersey City for two projects. Tractor-Trailer Flips On New Jersey Turnpike
A tractor-trailer overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The crash occurred at about noon on Wednesday, March 27 at the entrance from Route 18 to Interchange 9 in East Brunswick, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Based on a preliminary investigation, a Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling west towards the tolls, according to New Jersey State Police. The driver lost directional control and subsequently overturned, State Police said. The driver sustained minor injuries, police said.

Central Jersey Driver, 82, Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On Route 1
An 82-year-old driver was killed in a wrong-way. crash on Route 1 in Woodbridge, authorities said. Richard Becker, of East Brunswick, was driving south in the northbound lanes near Ford Avenue when he struck another car at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, Woodbridge police said. Becker died later that day at an area hospital. A front-seat passenger in Becker’s car suffered minor injuries, police said. The 42-year-old driver of the other car also suffered minor injuries, police said.
