A Long Island man is accused of taking thousands of dollars stolen from two Pennsylvania residents in a phone scam scheme, police announced on Monday, June 1.
Chancellor McKee, 22, of Islip, was arrested after an investigation into unauthorized transfers from two victims' bank accounts, according to Suffolk County Police.
The Pennsylvania residents had $2,500 and $4,500 separately removed from their accounts and transferred into a Coinbase cryptocurrency account belonging to McKee on Nov. 12, 2025, investigators said.

Ismael Rodriguez-Rosado, age 29, of East Islip, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and other charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, June 5, in the death of 31-year-old German Ariel Montes De Oca Ramirez in August 2021.

Amityville Woman, Massapequa Resident Charged With Animal Abandonment
Two women are facing charges after allegedly abandoning several cats at a Long Island park.
The Suffolk County SPCA said Crystal Cahill, age 39, of Amityville, and Catherine Gropper, age 32, of Massapequa, in Nassau County, trapped cats in East Islip under the pretense of neutering and returning the cats, but instead left three adult cats in Tanner Park in Copiague.
The pair was charged with three counts each of animal abandonment and once count of conspiracy to commit a crime, both misdemeanors.

A Long Island man committed violent acts against two movie theater employees, including a teenager, police announced.
A physical altercation in Sayville occurred outside Sayville Cinemas, located at 103 Railroad Ave., between a female employee and a customer on Saturday, June 18, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.

Suffolk County resident Lauren Orlando, age 38, of East Islip, died on Sunday, Jan. 23, following a crash in Stamford with another vehicle, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, of the Stamford Police Department.
