How Your Beach Ranks In Clean Water Quality
Three beaches in Fairfield County rank among the cleanest beaches along Long Island Sound, according to a new study of water quality covering the past three years. Stamford's Quigley Beach and East (Cove Island) Beach as well as Pear Tree Point Beach -- which is open to Darien residents only -- averaged the highest grades during wet and dry weather conditions from 2016 through 2018, according to this report by Save the Sound. Car Burglary Suspects Elude Police In Trumbull Chase
Trumbull Police engaged in an early morning pursuit with a stolen vehicle after they saw the occupants breaking into parked cars in a residential neighborhood. The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after a Calhoun Avenue resident reported seeing a suspicious vehicle driving slowly through the neighborhood and a passenger of the vehicle was attempting to break into cars parked in neighboring driveways, said Trumbull Police Capt. Man Driving Drunk Plows Into Patrol Cruiser On I-95, Police Say
A 28-year-old man driving drunk hit the back of a Connecticut State Trooper cruiser on I-95 that was stopped to help another driver, according to state police. The crash occurred around 8 p.m. Friday when Douglas Alqueza of East Lyme was traveling northbound on I-95 near Old Lyme when he hit a set of flares set out by the trooper and then slammed into the back of the cruiser, said the Connecticut State Police.
