Fire May Have Been Caused By Homeless Seeking Refuge In Maryland Shed, Investigators Say
A shed fire behind a row of townhouses in Cecil County caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage and left 10 people in two homes displaced, officials say. In Elkton, crews were called to Mallard Court at around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, to battle a blaze that broke out in the back of a property and spread to two neighboring homes. The fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damages, and left 10 people displaced who are being assisted by friends and the American Red Cross.
