Two people have died— one of which is possibly an infant— following a crash involving a tractor-trailer on US Route 222 on Tuesday, Sept. 27, authorities say. The crash happened between Exit: I-76 turnpike/PA 272 – PA Turnpike/Denver and Exit: US 322 – Blue Ball, according to PennDOT. A 36-year-old mom from Lititz was seen gambling on a skill machine in a convenience store while her infant was out of sight in the car in the parking lot, Ephrata police say. A 33-year-old Mount Joy man was found with child porn after police received a Cybertip, authorities say. Zachary Kump's home and electronic devices were searched by the Lancaster County Computer Crimes Task Force after police received the Cybertip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children on Aug. 9, according to a release by the Ephrata police on Sept. 13. More Than 50 Animals Perished In Massive Barn Fire In Central PA
48 cows and five horses were killed in a massive barn fire in Ephrata, authorities say. Fire crews were called to a fire at a dairy barn in the 200 block of Wanner Road in Earl Township near Ephrata just before 3 a m. On Wednesday, August 31, according to Garden Spot Fire and Rescue. Upon arrival the fire chief found a 60x120 dairy barn with fire throughout. One cow and a horse were rescued from the blaze, fire crews say. No humans were harmed but the barn was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Ruoss, was an emergency room patient at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, according to a release by the Ephrata police department.
