A father and his son have been charged with homicide in connection with a fatal shooting during a fight, authorities announced on Tuesday. Jared Harpster, 35 of the 100 block of Long Lane in Newberry Township, was pronounced dead at WellSpan York Hospital at 1:09 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, according to the York County Coroner's Office. A transient ex-con was charged with domestic violence after authorities said he pinned a Hackensack woman to the floor by her hair and threatened her with a knife before dawn Monday.
