A chair was set on fire inside a Long Island home, Nassau County police announced on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Supreet Mangat, 30, of Elmont, was arrested after a disturbance at a residence in Elmont on Friday, Sept. 19 at 11:45 p.m., according to the Arson Bomb Squad.
A 26-year-old woman who lives at the location received a text message from her housemate, who heard screaming coming from the victim’s room, detectives explained. The victim, who was not home, then Facetimed Mangat and saw him acting erratically and damaging property, including setting a chair on fire.

Ronaldo Tomlinson, 23, who is homeless, approached the victim at 710 Uniondale Avenue around 12:45 p.m. when a dispute began, detectives explained. The argument escalated, and Tomlinson allegedly punched the man in the face before pulling out a boxcutter, investigators said.

A Long Island pizzeria owner is accused of luring a 15-year-old employee into his private office and sexually abusing her, police said.
Joseph Piccolo, 61, was arrested Friday, Aug. 15, following an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct at his Oceanside pizzeria, Pizzaiola on Long Beach Road.
Piccolo told the female worker to come back to the restaurant on Sunday, Aug. 10, when nobody else would be there to he could give her extra money, Nassau County Police said.

A licensed therapist is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a children’s counseling business on Long Island.
Kimberly Clarke, age 44, of Valley Stream, was arrested on suspicion of grand larceny and related charges on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Nassau County Police said Clarke, a former special instructions therapist at Family of Kidz in Westbury, billed the business for 52 therapy sessions that were never performed.
In doing so, she forged five parent’s signatures a total of 52 times on official Nassau County documents, causing a loss of $2,886, police said.
