Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Driver Runs Through Stop Sign In Manorville, Police Say
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash involving a car and SUV that occurred after another motorist ran through a stop sign on Long Island, police said. The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7 in Manorville, Suffolk County Police said. Joseph Carpinella, 79, of Ronkonkoma was operating a 2018 Ford Fusion eastbound on Moriches-Middle Island Road when he failed to stop at the four-way stop sign and hit a 2012 Toyota SR5 being driven northbound on Weeks Avenue by Thomas Bisagni, 48, of Shirley, according to police. Unintended Rollaways Lead To Recall Of 270,000 Ford Vehicles
More than a quarter million Ford vehicles are being recalled in North America due to a transmission glitch that can cause cars to shift gears and roll away. The company announced that the recall is for Fusion models with 2.5-liter engines that were produced between 2013 and 2016. The recalled vehicles were built at Ford’s Flat Rock, Michigan and Hermosillo, Mexico, assembly plants. A driver escaped injury in a rollover crash Wednesday afternoon in Ridgewood. Her 4-door Ford Fusion clipped a tree before overturning halfway down the 100 block of North Pleasant Avenue. Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 1.6 million vehicles worldwide as auto companies continue replacing malfunctioning Takata front airbags that have proven to be dangerous over the past year. The recall includes the 2010 through 2016 Jeep Wrangler SUV, the 2010 Ram 3500 pickup and 4500/5500 Chassis Cab trucks, the 2010 and 2011 Dodge Dakota pickup, the 2010 through 2014 Dodge Challenger muscle car, the 2011 through 2015 Dodge Charger sedan, and the 2010 through 2015 Chrysler 300 sedan. Four Kids, One Adult Hospitalized After SUV Is Broadsided In Ridgefield
Four children and an adult were hospitalized with minor injuries after their SUV was broadsided and knocked over Wednesday afternoon in Ridgefield. Witnesses helped get some of the children out through the windows after the Honda Pilot pulled out from Art Lane onto Bergen Boulevard and was struck by a Ford Fusion at 12:48 p.m., Deputy Police Chief Robert Meurer said. Police, Ridgefield Rescue and several ambulances responded. All five SUV occupants were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with various bumps and bruises, Meurer said.

Seen It? Police Search For Car Involved In Robbery At Merritt Rest Stop
Have you seen it? State and local police departments are searching for a vehicle connected to a robbery at a rest stop on the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan on Saturday afternoon. The incident, on the northbound side, reportedly involved three Hispanic men in a 2007 gray Ford Fusion with Connecticut plates. The vehicle was last seen getting off of I-95 Exit 28 in Bridgeport. Ford Issues Massive Recall Due To Loose Steering Wheels
Ford is recalling more than 1.4 million vehicles after reports that the steering wheel can become loose and even come off while driving on two of its models. The recall involves some Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs from 2014 through 2018. Ford said it is aware of two accidents and one injury that may have been caused by the problem. EDGEWATER, N.J. — A social media influencer from Edgewater gave some Uber riders a surprise of a lifetime when he rolled up in a Lamborghini. Coby Persin -- owner of the world’s first gold chrome car rental agency in Fort Lee -- took over the Uber account of a Miami driver, who normally picks people up in a Ford Fusion.
