Woman Killed In Single-Vehicle Franklin County Crash A woman was killed and another injured during a single-vehicle crash in Western Massachusetts. It took place around 12:20 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 2, on Route 21 in Franklin County in Bernardston, said the Massachusetts State Police. When troopers arrived on the scene they found a 2015 Cadillac SRX had left the roadway on the right and crashed into a guardrail and then into a line of trees, state police said. Police Cruiser In Region Struck By Vehicle A police cruiser driven by a Western Mass chief of police was rear-ended while waiting to make a turn. The crash took place in Franklin County around 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 2 in Gill. According to Gill PD Chief Christopher Redmond, who was driving the vehicle, he was waiting to turn left onto Turners Falls Road in Bernardston when the crash occurred. Strong Gusty Winds Lead To Power Outages In Massachusetts Winds with gusts up to 20 miles per hour have brought down some tree limbs in Massachusetts, causing power outages. Most of the outages are in Western Massachusetts. Just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, Eversource is reporting 473 customers without power, with 465 in Western Mass.
