Covid-19: More Than 3,700 New Cases Reported Over Christmas Week, Worcester County
Over the last week, more than 3,700 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Worcester County.
The week of Christmas - Monday, Dec. 21 - Sunday, Dec. 27 - also saw 1,467 new deaths across the Central Massachusetts county.
Statewide, the number of new cases went up by 27,615 since last week (Dec. 21) and 383 new deaths have been reported, according to the most recent update to the Massachusetts COVID-19 Datadashboard, Dec. 27.

8-Time Sex Offender Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charges
A registered level 3 sex offender - who has been convicted on sexual assault charges 8 times - is facing 15 to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
On Tuesday, Nov. 24, Nicholas Robillard, 39, of North Attleboro, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to the charges of distribution and possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. ATtorney’s Office, Massachusetts.

Westchester Native, Harrison High Class of '45, Korean Vet, John P. Witzel, 90
John P. Witzel of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 1.
John was born in Manhattan on Dec. 6, 1928 and later moved to Harrison. He attended Harrison High School, graduating in the class of 1945, and continued on to Columbia University where he graduated in 1949.
John served overseas during the Korean War and, upon return home, he worked for the Bendix Corporation and later in the family business, Witzel Brothers Inc. John was musically gifted and played the piano, organ and accordion.
