Freeport Man Arrested After Firing Gun In Rockville Centre Parking Lot, Police Say
A report of gunfire led to the arrest of a Long Island man after officers discovered shell casings and recovered a handgun connected to the alleged incident. According to Nassau County Police detectives, the incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at around 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of a commercial business at 525 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre. Detectives said witnesses reported seeing a man remove a gun from his jacket pocket and fire it into the air before fleeing the scene. According to the Nassau County Police Department's Homicide Squad, the crash occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. on North Main Street in Freeport. Years in prison await a man who confessed to selling illegal firearms on Long Island. Kim Lilly, age 45, of Greenville, South Carolina, was sentenced to seven years behind bars in Nassau County Court on Wednesday, Nov. 20, after copping to criminal sale of a firearm and related charges. Authorities issued a public alert for a missing teenager from Long Island. Madisyn Simpson, age 14, of Freeport, was last seen leaving Laurette Lane at around 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, according to Nassau County Police. A weeks-long investigation has led to the arrest of a Long Island man for allegedly exposing himself to a girl. The incident happened on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in Valley Stream.
