Heroin Kingpin Who Ran Fatal Drug Ring From Atlantic County Jail Eligible For Parole In 9 Years
A man who ran a heroin-selling network from the Atlantic County Jail was sentenced, authorities said. Emery Chapman, 44, of Pleasantville, was sentenced to 21 years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Friday, Feb. 2. Chapman will be eligible for parole after nine years and once he's released, he'll have five years of "intensive parole supervision" under the No Early Release Act. Pair Found With Defaced Gun After Galloway Vehicle Break-In: Police
Two men from South Jersey were arrested after they broke into someone's car and had a defaced gun, authorities said. Galloway Township police said they received a call from a potential theft victim at around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The man said he had checked his surveillance footage and saw someone broke into his vehicle at around 1:30 a.m. Officers began checking the area and noticed a Nissan Altima parked on Smithville Boulevard. Popular NJ Wedding Venue Begins Massive Upgrade
The ballroom of a luxury resort that's become a popular wedding venue in New Jersey is about to undergo a massive renovation. Seaview Hotel and Golf Club announced the start of a $250,000 project to upgrade the Bayview Ballroom. The 6,140-square-foot venue has a terrace overlooking the Galloway Township resort's golf course, Reeds Bay, and the Atlantic City skyline. South Jersey residents turned out in droves to air their frustrations over the stench caused by landfills that's been stinking up their neighborhoods for decades. A 25-year-old man from South Jersey has been indicted in a crash that killed an 8-year-old boy from Philadelphia last summer, authorities said. Edward W. A Christmas Eve fire ravaged an Atlantic County home. The Great Creek Road home was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived to the scene at 12 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 24, Galloway Township police said.
