Prosecutor: South Jersey Pair Caused Fatal Fentanyl-Heroin Overdose
Two men from South Jersey have been indicted in connection with a fatal overdose in 2018 of an Atlantic County man, authorities said.
An Atlantic County Grand Jury returned an indictment last week charging Emery Chapman, 39, of Pleasantville and Brian Whitted, 56, of Galloway Township with first-degree strict liability for a drug related death, conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute, distribution of CDS, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.
Chapman was additionally charged with witness tampering, Tyner said.

South Jersey Man, Woman Hurt In Atlantic City Shooting
A man from Galloway Township and a woman from Atlantic City were wounded by gunfire on Tuesday night, authorities said.
At 9:32 pm, Atlantic City patrol officers responded to the first block of south Florida Avenue on a ShotSpotter alert, according to Lt. Kevin Fair, a city police spokesman.
A man and woman, who were in the same vehicle, were wounded in the gunfire, Fair said. Their names have not been released.
The man, 33, of Galloway, was shot and drove himself to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries, Fair said.

Port Authority PD: Man Who Assaulted, Abducted Companion At Newark Airport Captured After Crash
Port Authority police captured a driver who they said assaulted a companion at Newark Airport, sped off with her and her friend in his SUV and then crashed.
The incident began Thursday afternoon at the Terminal B arrivals area, Port Authority Media Relations Deputy Director Amber Greene said.
Jason Strong, 30, of Staten Island, assaulted a woman, then sped off with her and her friend in the Cadillac SRX, which crashed along Meeker Avenue in Newark, Greene said.
The 6-foot, 180-pound Strong -- who already was wanted on warrants -- took off on foot and was quickly captured, she said.
