Two reputed Jersey City gang members shot five people in retaliation for the murder of an associate several years earlier, federal authorities in Newark charged.
One of them, Jalil “Broadday” Holmes, 20, of East Orange, is already charged with shooting at a vehicle in Jersey City, wounding two men, before he was shot in the Newport Centre mall food court in January 2019.
In the new case, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said that Holmes and Jidon Rogers, 37, of Jersey City went with two other men to Lexington Avenue looking to shoot rivals on June 30, 2018.

Seventeen people connected to the Paterson-based 230 Boys street gang were charged federally following a coordinated drug-dealing sweep by a strike force comprised of agents from the DEA, ATF and state, county and local law enforcement, authorities announced Thursday.
The 230 Boys members and associates, all Paterson residents, were involved in selling heroin tied to more than 60 fatal overdoses in New Jersey over the past year, in bags stamped with such names "9 V2," "Dorney Park," "Pandora," and "I Am Back," federal authorities charged.

An alleged Bridgeport gang member was busted on firearms-related charges following an investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Unit, Statewide Narcotics Unit, along with State/Bridgeport Gang Task Force.
Russell Gilchrist, 22, of Bridgeport, was nabbed during a warrant raid at 48 Highland Ave., in the Green Homes Federal Housing Projects, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.

Nine Charged In Paterson-Based Cocaine-Supply Ring: Kilos, Guns, Cash Found
PATERSON, N.J. -- Nine members of a Paterson-based major cocaine supply network were indicted following a joint investigation that involved the Passaic County Sheriff's Office and State Police, authorities said Tuesday.
Investigators seized nearly 18 pounds of cocaine, a small quantity of heroin, 82 pills containing fentanyl, three handguns and more than $76,000 in drug proceeds during what was called “Operation Stillwater,” Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.
