Crews Hoist Vehicle That Veered Off Garden State Parkway
A vehicle that veered off of the Garden State Parkway in Toms River was hoisted back on the roadway on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The NJDOT says it happened north of the Toms River toll plaza just after 8:30 a.m. A traffic camera showed a car lifted onto a tow truck bed near mile marker 85 about 90 minutes after the incident was first reported. All lanes remain open.

Five Injured In 3-Car Crash On Garden State Parkway: Police
Five people suffered minor injuries in a three-car crash on the Garden State Parkway in Middlesex County Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, state police said. At 8:05 a.m., troopers responded to the parkway northbound in Sayreville at milepost 124.9 for a crash between a Toyota minivan, Toyota passenger vehicle and Acura SUV, police said. The accident remains under investigation, state police said.

A car thief was killed by a police officer in a pursuit on the Garden State Parkway Thursday, Dec. 28, state officials confirmed. The stolen vehicle was being pursued by officers from the Cranford police department when it crashed on the southbound side of the highway in Woodbridge on Dec. 28, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said in a news release. The driver and passenger in a stolen Range Rover that hit a utility pole, rolled over and ignited a cluster of fires during a pre-dawn police chase Friday on Route 17 are both 15-year-old juveniles from Newark, authorities said.
