New Jersey drivers can finally stop at the James Gandolfini Service Area again. After more than a year of renovations, the Garden State Parkway rest stop in Montvale has officially reopened, bringing back popular food spots and a fresh new look. Travelers can now grab a coffee at Dunkin’, a salty snack from Auntie Anne’s, or dig into some classic comfort food at Nathan’s and Burger King. Passaic River Bridge Demolition Prompts Garden State Parkway Detour For Half Of February
Drivers on the Garden State Parkway should prepare for overnight detours throughout February, as a portion of the Passaic River Bridge is set to be demolished. Starting Monday, Feb. 10, at 11 p.m., through Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5 a.m., all northbound traffic will be rerouted off the Parkway at Exit 156 in Clifton. This detour will continue for 15 nights throughout the month, allowing crews to safely demolish part of the 70-year-old bridge. A 54-year-old Toms River surgeon died following a medical episode while driving on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County on Thursday, Jan. 30, authorities said. At 7:10 a.m., Dr. Jarrod Kaufman was driving a Tesla Model Y northbound on the Garden State Parkway in Lakewood Township, when his vehicle veered off the roadway into a briar patch, Chares Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The man was heading north behind the wheel of a Lexus SUV when the vehicle ran off the road to the right and struck multiple trees at milepost 86.7 in Toms River around 6:50 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt.
