Someone Left A Stove On: Gas Leak Forces Lodi School Evacuation
Someone apparently left a stove on, releasing enough gas to force the evacuation of Wilson Elementary School in Lodi Thursday afternoon. Danbury Family Displaced By Weekend Fire
DANBURY, Conn. — A family was displaced early Saturday when a basement fire caused damage to their Padanaram Road home, according to Danbury fire officials. Firefighters were called to the home just before 7:30 a.m. on a report of smoke in the basement along with the odor of gas, said James Gagliardo, the department’s public information officer. Units quickly located the source and extinguished the blaze, he said. The American Red Cross was brought in to the assist the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Area Evacuated After Car Slams Into Spring Valley Home
Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid the area of 91 West St., in Spring Valley after a car slammed into a home, hitting the gas meter, according to police. The incident took place around 1 p.m. Friday, when a vehicle drove into the home, hitting the gas meter, causing the home and surrounding homes to be evacuated, police said. Spring Valley police said the fire department is on scene helping to secure the safety of residents and that officials are waiting for Orange and Rockland Utilities to arrive to repair the gas leak. Yonkers Roadway Closed As Crews Investigate Gas Leak
YONKERS, N.Y. - A busy roadway in Yonkers has been temporarily shut down as crews investigate a gas leak. Due to a gas leak, Caryl Avenue has been closed between Elinor Place and South Broadway in Yonkers, according to police in the 3rd Precinct. Crews are currently on scene investigating. No timetable has been released regarding when the roadway would be fully reopened. Police said that motorists and pedestrians should avoid the area if possible until the scene is cleared. Residential Gas Leak Shuts Maywood Block
MAYWOOD, N.J. – Traffic piled up in Maywood Tuesday evening. Vehicles were being diverted to surrounding streets as crews worked to locate a gas leak in a home near Coolidge Ave. and Spring Valley Road, according to a resident waiting in her car outside of her home. Authorities shut down portions of Coolidge Ave., Spring Valley Rd., Oak Ave. and Palmer Ave. Fire officials declined to comment. Responders included the Maywood Fire Department.
