A suspect wanted for eluding tried to elude police in Camden County before getting caught in a chase, authorities said. On Tuesday, June 21, at 6:49 p.m. a Gloucester Township police officer assigned to the Traffic Safety Unit was conducting radar enforcement along College Drive when he observed a black Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in excess of 20 mph over the speed limit, police said. A probable tornado touched down in South Jersey early Thursday, June 9, according to the National Weather Service. Trees fell on several homes in Camden County due to strong winds, authorities said. A school bus had a head-on crash with a Toyota Camry in Camden County, authorities said. Both drivers were hurt in the crash, Gloucester Township police said. NJ Man Convinced By Ex-Con To Rob Bank Gets 92 Months In Federal Prison
A Camden man was sentenced to 92 months in federal prison for his role in a holdup spree by a serial bank robber. Laque Hunter, 37, was recruited to rob the Ocean First Bank in Collingswood in July 2018 by Anthony L. Livingston, 50, also of Camden. Livingston helped with a demand note and even drove Hunter to the bank, authorities said. The two then split the proceeds. Livington had only just been released from federal prison less than two weeks earlier after serving 18 years for robbing eight South Jersey banks in 2000 and 2001. A 12-year-old boy died days after being found unresponsive on a school bus in Camden County, authorities said. School officials and first responders tried reviving the boy after finding him on a bus in Gloucester Township Jan. 24, a spokesman with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said. New Jersey State Police have identified the victim of a fatal overnight crash in Camden County.
