With SantaCon scheduled this weekend in the area, the MTA announced that it was instituting a 24-hour ban on alcohol on Metro-North trains and stations. Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon. In a statement issued just before 8:30 a.m., Metro-North advised customers on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines to listen for announcements at local stations. Delays were as long as 20 minutes at times.

First Woman Named Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi has been named the first female president of Metro-North Railroad.  Rinaldi, has served as acting president of Metro-North since July 2017, and previously was Metro-North’s executive vice president, beginning in 2015.  On Wednesday, Feb. 21 she was officially named president.  She replaces Joe Giulietti who resigned last July after three years leading the railroad.
