Man Killed After Being Struck By School Bus At Long Island Intersection
A man was killed after being struck by a school bus at a busy Long Island intersection.
The incident happened on Monday, Nov. 16 just before 6:40 p.m. in Great Neck.
While attempting to cross Nirvana Avenue at Middle Neck Road, the victim, a 78-year-old male pedestrian, was struck was a Towne Bus Company school bus, Nassau County Police said.
The driver, a 60-year-old woman, attempted to turn off of Middle Neck Road onto Nirvana Avenue when the accident occurred, said police.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees Slight Uptick In Cases, Here's Breakdown By Towns
Long Island has seen a slight uptick in positive COVID-19 cases though statewide numbers continue trending in the right direction.
There have now been 44,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nassau, and 45,006 in Suffolk as each county saw less than 100 new cases in the latest numbers provided by the state Department of Health.
There have been 2,198 COVID-19 fatalities in Nassau and 2,005 in Suffolk.
On Long Island, the positive infection rate over the past three days:
Monday, Aug. 31: 1.0 percent;
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 0.8 percent;

Police: Man Spits At One Responding Officer, Kicks Another During Incident At Long Island Bar
A 23-year-old man is facing a host of charges after he spit at one responding officer and kicked another during an incident at a Long Island bar.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 in Great Neck.
Police officers responded for a disturbance at the Bakers Hill Tavern, located on Middle Neck Road.
Kevin Rodriguez, of Great Neck, approached responding officers and began to yell at them, Nassau County Police said.
Officers ordered Rodriguez to disperse several times, and he refused, police said.
