After years of renovation and development work, a new tavern overlooking the Hudson River has finally opened its doors, serving up colorful cocktails, wood-fired pizza, and “elevated” pub food.
Greene County eatery Patrick Henry’s, located in Coxsackie at 48 South River Street, welcomed its first diners on Friday, April 7.
The restaurant occupies a historic, 1908 building that began as a mercantile exchange before later incarnations as Tom’s Cabin, Costello’s, and then the original Patrick Henry’s from 1970 until the 2010’s, owner Dominick Purnomo said on Facebook.

Drunk, Wrong-Way Driver Flees On Foot After Being Busted On Thruway, Police Say
An alleged drunk driver is facing multiple charges after he was busted driving the wrong way on a highway in the region, authorities said.
Greene County resident Conor Moan, age 25, of Greenville, was arrested for felony DWI and other charges following a near-crash that occurred early Sunday, March 5, on the Thruway in Schenectady County, in the town of Rotterdam.
Troopers first spotted Moan at around 2 a.m. as he drove a Subaru Legacy westbound in the eastbound lane on I-90 near exit 26, according to State Police. They avoided a head-on crash by veering onto the right shoulder.

Drunk Driver Leads Troopers On Thruway Chase, Intentionally Strikes Cop Cars, Police Say
A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading New York State Police troopers on a highway chase before intentionally striking two police vehicles, authorities said.
The incident began at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, March 2, when troopers in Greene County attempted to stop Angelo Paradiso, of Palenville, for a traffic violation on the northbound Thruway near Catskill, according to state police.
Paradiso, who was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt, allegedly refused to stop and a chase ensued.
