Husband, Wife Killed In Head-On Route 9W Crash Between Pickup Truck, Minivan
A husband and wife died together after their car was struck in a head-on crash in the region, authorities said.
The Greene County incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, on State Route 9W in the town of New Baltimore, near State Route 144.
When troopers arrived, they found 90-year-old Charles Woullard and his 76-year-old wife, Frances, both of the city of Hudson in Columbia County, dead at the scene.

Two suspects are behind bars after allegedly breaking into a man’s home in the region and robbing him.
State Police in Greene County were called just before 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, by a Catskill man who said he was robbed at a home in the Jefferson Heights area.
The victim told police two suspects, a man and a woman, had entered the home before the man struck him in the face.
They took his cell phone, $12 in cash, his state ID card, a bank card, and a Medicare card, police said.

Hudson Valley Duo Nabbed For Burglary At Warehouse, Police Say
Two Hudson Valley men were nabbed for allegedly stealing six German-made cabinets from a warehouse.
The burglary took place in Greene County around 5:15 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 22 in the town of Cario.
The owner of the property informed state police that six German-made cabinets were missing from the warehouse, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
During the investigation, troopers learned that the cabinets were removed from the warehouse and placed into a U-Haul, Nevel said.

For Jason Scanlon, barbecue isn’t just a hobby, it’s a passion.
The Columbia County resident has been obsessed with grilling and live fire cooking for most of his life, but really began honing his craft around 2010, he said.
Scanlon runs Bernie’s Blue Line Barbecue in northern Columbia County, in Niverville, at 122 Lake Street.
