Thanks to a GPS tracking device hidden in a pack of cash, Hackensack police captured a 22-year-old city man moments after he robbed a TD Bank branch of $1,150 armed with a steak knife on Tuesday, authorities said. “Hey, gimme the money. Hackensack PD: Philadelphia Man Had Pot, $137K In Suspected Drug Cash In Jeep
Hackensack police officers seized more than $137,000 in cash and marijuana from a Philadelphia man during a motor vehicle stop, authorities said. On Friday, July 13, members of the Hackensack Police Narcotics Division pulled over Jose Diaz-Velez, 38, on Hudson Street, Captain Peter Busciglio said. The officers found marijuana and cash suspiciously packaged inside of his white Jeep Liberty, the captain said. Diaz-Velez was charged him with one count of transporting or possessing property and possession of marijuana, and transported to the Bergen County Jail, Busciglio said.

Police Officer, SUV Passengers Hospitalized After Crash
A Hackensack police officer responding to a call and two occupants of an SUV were hospitalized -- all for precautionary reasons -- after a collision Sunday afternoon. The driver of the Toyota refused medical attention after the 2:32 p.m. crash at the intersection of Prospect and Central avenues. The officer had her vehicle's lights and siren on at the time, Capt. Francesco Aquila said. No serious injuries were sustained, he said.

Authorities charged a Hackensack man with collecting kiddie porn. A judge ordered Leonard E. Liebmann, 60, released pending a July 11 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on possession of child pornography charges.
