Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man caught on video stealing a package worth $3,000 off the front porch of a Hackettstown home. The theft occurred on Musky Ridge Drive around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, Hackettstown Police said. Surveillance footage appears to show the man donning a black baseball cap and holding a Wendy’s fast food bag as he snatches the package and takes off. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hospitalizes NJ Woman: Police
A 71-year-old woman from Hackettstown was hospitalized after getting exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide, authorities said. On Sunday, Dec. 3, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Hackettstown police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Willow Grove Street for a welfare check. The woman told police she was not feeling well. The Hackettstown Fire Department was requested to check for possible readings of carbon monoxide. Thanksgiving Eve Crash Kills NJ Mom
Support is on the rise for a New Jersey family whose matriarch died in a crash the day before Thanksgiving. Lauren Gerhold, of Hackettstown, was heading north in a Jeep SUV on Route 517 in Allamuchy Township around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, when a Jeep Wrangler heading east on Ridge Road struck the passenger's side of a Fort pickup truck, heading south on Route 517, New Jersey State Police said. Morris County is mourning the loss of a longtime mechanic and dedicated father of two. Kristopher J. Leek died in a crash on Friday, Oct. 27, his obituary says. He was 38. Authorities are searching for the men who can be seen politely wiping their shoes as they enter New Jersey smoke shop then brawling with the clerk, robbing him of $2,000 in merchendise, police said. It happened Monday, Oct. 16 around 10:45 p.m. at the Smokey Bear Smoke Shop on 255 Main St., in Hackettstown. Oh deer! A 13-year-old bicyclist was struck by a deer that was struck by a car in a chaotic scene in Hackettstown on Tuesday, Oct. 10. At 7:03 p.m., police responded to the 600 block of Willow Grove Street to a report of a teen bicyclist struck by a deer, officers said.
