When a man casts as imposing a shadow as retired New Jersey State Police Lt. Kevin Joseph Hanrahan, his sudden and unexpected loss is felt as deeply as it is widely. Shock mixed with profound sadness as word spread that a heart attack cut down a man who was known to be as kind as he was powerful. He was only 61. Three teenagers were arrested after fleeing police in a stolen car that later crashed and caught fire, authorities said. A Galloway police officer rescued the unconscious driver of the car that landed in an Absecon marsh during the chase, Galloway Township police said. The boy was hospitalized. A pair from South Jersey has been indicted in connection with exposing a dog to heroin, authorities said.
