A trio of thieves who’d been burglarizing vehicles parked outside New Jersey gyms had paper and tape covering their license plate when they tried to cash a stolen check at a Carlstadt bank, authorities said. Were they ever in for a surprise. The trio was still at the drive-up window when the manager of Lakeland Bank called police, Acting Police Chief Thomas Cox said. Stranger Stalks Teen Walking Dog, Shows Lewd Photos, Talks Dirty: Hasbrouck Heights PD
A Hasbrouck Heights teen walking her dog was followed by a stranger who got out of his car, showed her pornographic photos and made lewd comments, authorities said. A fire reportedly ignited by a smoking oven severely damaged a Lodi home Wednesday night. The two-alarm, gas-fed blaze broke out on the first floor in the rear of the two-story Garibaldi Avenue home shortly before 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8, responders said. A child in her pajamas was found alone and shivering on a busy Hasbrouck Heights street corner Friday morning, authorities said. Hackensack firefighters caught two children tossed to them by their parents during an overnight apartment building blaze. A drunk and disorderly bus passenger was arrested after he assaulted Hasbrouck Heights police officers who responded to the driver's call for help, authorities said.
