New Details: Hundreds Of Vehicles Involved In Crashes On Icy Roadways In Westchester, Rockland
Police have provided an update on the string of crashes amid icy conditions on major roadways in the region during the height of the morning commute on Wednesday, Jan. 5. Shortly before 6:00 a.m., state police began responding to a multitude of weather-related crashes involving hundreds of vehicles. The majority of the crashes involved multi-vehicles and were property damage only, police said, but one was fatal. Tractor-Trailer Crash Along Route 30 Sends 1 Driver To Hospital, Halting Traffic: PennDOT
Part of Route 30 shut down due to a tractor-trailer crash, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The westbound lanes are closed Exit: PROSPECT ROAD and Exit: PA 441 - COLUMBIA/MARIETTA, according to PennDOT. Hazmat crews are on the scene for a fuel spill, according to emergency dispatchers. UPDATE: A driver was hospitalized after the raised bed of his roll-off truck struck a railroad bridge and landed on its side Monday morning in Hawthorne, authorities said. One Injured After Car Crashes Into Western Mass Store
A Western Massachusetts business is still closed a day after a vehicle crashed into the building causing major damage to the inside of the store. The incident took place in Hampden County at the Teddy Bear Pools & Spas at 41 East St., in Chicopee around Sunday, April 25, after the car crashed right into the building, leaving a hole and causing damage to the inside of the store, said Detective Donna Liszku of the Chicopee Police. Truck Overturns, Dumps Cement On Long Island Roadway
A Long Island roadway has reopened after a cement truck overturned spilling fluids. The single-vehicle crash took place around 11:10 a.m., Monday, March 2, on Sheridan Boulevard, in Inwood, said the Nassau County Police. The crash dumped cement and fluids on the roadway, causing a call to hazmat officials and the Inwood Fire Department who worked to clear the roadway.
