It would have been understandable if all the attention given to the reassignment of head coach Lou DiRienzo proved to be too much of a distraction for the New Rochelle High School football team to overcome in the state playoffs. But that didn't happen. Two confirmed cases of mononucleosis cancelled the Warren Hills football game with Summit Friday, district officials said. William F. Mignault, a legendary high school football coach in Connecticut, has died at the age of 90. The Connecticut High School Hall of Famer, who started the football program at Ledyard High School and served as its coach for more than four decades, died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, the school announced. A widely followed national ranking has placed four high school football programs in its annual top 100 ranking.
