Rockland Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Tree
A Rockland County man was arrested for DWI after clipping a vehicle pulling out of a driveway and crashing his car into a tree. The incident took place on Wednesday, Dec. 9 on Mallory Road in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 34-year-old male from Hillcrest told officers he clipped a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway before swerving off the roadway and striking a tree. An area man was arrested for alleged drug possession after being stopped by police in Rockland County. The unidentified man was stopped around 11:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, by Ramapo police in the Hillcrest area of town, said the Ramapo Police. A Rockland County man who was released on bail after lighting a car on fire at an area hotel is now wanted after being involved in a second dispute, police said. On Tuesday, July 21 a 28-year-old man allegedly got into an argument with someone at the Howard Johnson Inn in Airmont and proceeded to light that person's car on fire, which spread to a second parked car beside it. Police arrested two people for allegedly driving drunk following separate crashes. The first person was arrested around 12:55 a.m., Monday, Jan. 3, when officers in Rockland responded to the area of 144 Rockland Lane in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo for a vehicle crash with injuries. Passenger Suffers Injuries After Drunk Driver Flees Scene Of Rockland Crash, Police Say
A man driving drunk who fled the scene of a crash was located along with an injured passenger, police say. It happened just after midnight on Sunday, Jan. 18 in Ramapo. Police say when officers arrived at the scene of the one-car crash on East Eckerson Road, the driver, a 33-year-old Spring Valley man, had fled the scene. They located him at a home on Northbrook Road in Hillcrest, where he was arrested for DWI. A passenger was also found at the home and was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
