Even Long Island native Alec Baldwin, who is known for playing famous New Yorkers such as Donald Trump and 30 Rock’s Jack Donaghy, isn’t immune to crafty New York City scammers. Baldwin, who was born in Amityville and raised in Massapequa, took to Instagram this week to let people know that he had been had after purchasing $40 tickets for a “boat tour” to Staten Island for a view of the Statue of Liberty. Cashless Tolls Coming To GWB, Lincoln & Holland Tunnels In 2021
Getting across the Hudson River is about to get even EZ-er. The Port Authority is set to approve contracts for the construction of cashless tolling equipment at the George Washington Bridge, and Lincoln and Holland tunnels, ABC reports. The new system will likely be up and running in 2021. The tunnels have $60 million budgeted for each with $89 million for the George Washington Bridge. Eighty-eight percent of drivers already use an EZ Pass to pay tolls, Port Authority said. Port Authority introduced cashless tolling to the Bayonne Bridge in 2017, and to Outerbridge Crossing this year.

Port Authority May Raise Tolls On GWB, Other Bridges And Tunnels: Report
The Port Authority is considering raising tolls on the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln Tunnel and other crossings into New York by $1, The New York Times reported Monday. Tolls for the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the Outerbridge and the Goethals Bridge are all $10.50 off-peak, and $12.50 during peak times. In addition, the fare for AirTrans -- the transport system linking airports to mass transit -- would jump from $2 to $7.75 under the proposal. Port Authority police nabbed an accused gunman wanted on attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting at a Jersey City public housing complex. An overnight traffic jam entering New Jersey from the Holland Tunnel had an uncommon twist: A driver drunk on wine had passed out behind the wheel, authorities said.
