The closure, announced around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, was for all westbound lanes near Exit 63 in Holtsville in Suffolk County. The on-ramp to the LIE at North Ocean Avenue was also shut down. The Suffolk County Police Department reported that the crash happened in Patchogue at about 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16. SCPD said a 54-year-old Patchogue man was crossing Medford Avenue when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan driven by a 62-year-old Holtsville man.  The 54-year-old was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition. On Thursday, Sept. 23, at about 8:40 a.m., a 911 caller reported that a man in a dark-colored sedan was committing a lewd act on Division Street in Holtsville, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers. "The suspect was described as white or Hispanic, in his 20s, with dark hair and facial hair," Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported. Suffolk County Police officers responded just after 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, in Holtsville. According to investigators, a man driving 2021 Kia lost control and drove through two fences and bushes and crashed into the porch of a house located on the 1100 block of North Ocean Avenue.
