A Lancaster man who broke into two homes on the same day, attempting to rape one of the residents, has been sentenced to state prison, the Lancaster District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday, Jan. 27.
Mohamed Camara, 33, of the 500 block of St. Joseph Street, was sentenced to 6.5 to 15 years in state prison by Judge Thomas Sponaugle after pleading guilty on Friday to burglary, attempted rape, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, and theft by unlawful taking, according to the DA’s office.

Half a dozen people are charged in connection with a "large-scale" home burglary scheme, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.
At a press conference on Friday, April 26, prosecutors and law enforcement said an organized ring of thieves stole more than $160,000 in goods from homes in Lehigh, Berks and Northampton counties.

A 24-year-old Hudson Valley man faces 25 in prison after admitting he killed a victim involved in a home burglary, according to authorities.
Ulster County resident Jacob Jackson, age 24, of Rosendale, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Tuesday, Nov. 14, for the shooting death of Myron Moye, age 36, of Kingston, said Ulster County District Attorney David Clegg.

A 42-year-old man was captured with help from the US Marshals Service in connection with a recent home burglary in North Jersey, authorities said.
Julio Ponce, of Clifton, is believed to have gone into a Nutley home on Monday, Oct. 9, on Raymond Avenue, and taken a woman's purse from a tabletop around 10 a.m., while she was showering, Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said.
The woman said she heard loud knocking at her front door. Moments later, she found her back door wide open and her pocketbook gone, police said.

A 29-year-old home burglar was arrested after breaking into a Long Island – and attempting to do the same to two other houses, police said.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, a 72-year-old man woke up to the sound of his alarm system going off in his Russell Gardens home.
When the victim left his bedroom, he came face-to-face with 29-year-old Curtis Slyke, police said.
Slyke grabbed an item and fled the Wensley Drive home on foot.
