Maryland Music Teacher Sexually Assaulted 12-Year-Old Student During Lessons: Police A 30-year-old music teacher from Maryland has been arrested on accusations he sexually assaulted a then-12-year-old student for two years, authorities said. Priyant Sundas, 30, of Grosvenor Place, abused the student during one-on-one lessons at the at the Soundcheck Rock Academy, formerly known as the Columbia Rock School between 2018 and 2020, Howard County police said. Police found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound on the 5300 block of Village Center Drive in Wilde Lake Village Center around 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, Howard County police said. She was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. A short time later, a male victim walked into Howard County General Hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim had also been shot at the village center. Victim Attacked With Knife At Howard County Truck Stop: Police A man has been arrested after cutting another man several times at a truck stop in Jessup, according to police.  Dereck Saunders, 54, got into a fight with an acquaintance at the TA Travel Center in the 7500 block of Assateague Drive, where he cut him numerous times on Jan. 16, Howard County Police said. An officer conducting an area check at a shopping center in the 6400 block of Dobbin Road noticed a man trying to break into cars around 5:50 p.m., Howard County police said. When he saw the officer, he took off in his 2002 Chevrolet Impala, crashing into an unoccupied police car and another vehicle, police said.
