National Guardsman Charged In Edgewater, Rutherford Robberies, Suspected In Hudson Rape
One of two men charged with the gunpoint robbery of an Edgewater spa and a private escort at a Rutherford hotel is a National Guardsman from Monmouth County who was preparing to report this weekend when he was captured Thursday in Asbury Park, Daily Voice has learned. A woman who stiffed a kind-hearted Lyndhurst salon owner out of more than $600 by claiming that she had to go to her car to get her debit card was in the middle of a spree of cons, said police who caught her. In-the-act surveillance video shows two members of a burglary crew who Fairview police said stole cash, cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets -- some of them winners -- from a trio of borough convenience stores. The burglarized delis -- Good News (twice) Big Max and Fair Ridge -- are all on Bergen Boulevard, Lt. Michael Martic said.
