Man Killed In West New York
A 36-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after a 34-year-old man was killed this week in West New York, authorities said. Jose Cepeda was found on 60th Street and JFK Boulevard East around 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:23 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, and Wilfredo Flores has been charged with aggravated assault. The charge stems from an interaction between Cepeda and Flores on (or about) Tuesday, Dec. 27. Additional charges may be forthcoming. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending…

Christmas Killing Leaves Jersey City Man Dead
Authorities have identified the 46-year-old man killed in a Christmas killing. Khaliq Lockett was found having suffered gunshot wounds to the torso around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was taken from Communipaw and Crescent avenues to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 7:51 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. Fight Broke Out Before Double Stabbing That Left Union City Boy Dead: Prosecutor
Authorities have release preliminary details in a double stabbing that left a teen boy dead and another seriously hurt in Union City this week. Five teens were involved in a fight at 40th Street and Bergenline Avenue around 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Allen Flores, 15, of Union City, and a 16-year-old boy were each stabbed and hospitalized. Flores was pronounced dead at Christ Hospital in Jersey City. A 22-year-old Connecticut man is facing multiple assault charges following a crash that seriously injured two passengers in New Jersey last year. Daniel Leal Jr., of Meriden, CT, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 2, in connection to a crash that happened in Kearny in October 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced. A pair of alleged drug dealers were busted with high capacity magazines,, a handgun and more than $15,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana and other drugs in Hudson County, authorities said. A 23-year-old Bergen County man was gunned down in Jersey City, authorities said. Jovahn Horne, of Tenafly, was found a gunshot wound to the abdomen at 74 Dales Ave., around 9:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A 28-year-old Jersey City woman has been charged with murder after the man she's accused of having stabbed in February died of his injuries over the summer, authorities announced. Sykirrah Kirkland stabbed Omar Boatwright, 29, who was found with injuries at 67 Lexington Ave., around 8:05 the morning of Saturday, Feb. 19, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. An off-duty Jersey City police officer was seriously burned while assisting at a crash scene in Kearny, when another driver passed road flares sparking a fire, authorities said. Charges were upgraded for a Hudson County man after the man he beat unconscious died, authorities said. Robert Stevens, 40, of Union City, beat 51-year-old Anthony Passero on Bergen Avenue between Myrtle and Bostwick avenues in Jersey City around 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
