Jersey City Man Accused Of Kidnapping Boy, 14, From Local Park To Sexually Assault Him
A Jersey City man invited a 14-year-old boy back to his apartment where he barricaded and sexually assaulted him just moments after meeting him at a local park, authorities said Saturday.
The teen met Robert Harper, 54, at Berry Lane Park on Wednesday, March 24, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
The two went back to Harper's Union Street apartment together, where Harper barricaded the teen inside and sexually assaulted him, Suarez said.
The boy was eventually able to escape and immediately ran to police to report the incident, the prosecutor said.

Girl, 13, Sexually Assaulted By West New York Family Friend, Prosecutor Says
A 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man more than three times her age in a West New York home, authorities said Tuesday.
Police were notified of a girl being sexually attacked earlier this month by a family friend, later identified as 38-year-old Jose Del Pilar, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Del Pilar was arrested later that day, Jan. 20, just after 5 p.m. at the West New York Police Station on 60th Street, Suarez said.
He was charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact.
Prosecutor: One Man Dead, Another Injured In Jersey City Shooting
One man was killed and another injured in a Jersey City shooting Thursday evening, authorities said.
Niles Holmes, 35, was shot multiple times near MLK Drive and Wilkinson Avenue just after 4:15 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Holmes, of Jersey City, was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just after 6:10 p.m., Suarez said.
A second victim, a 24-year-old Jersey City man, sustained two graze wounds to the arm and was treated at Jersey City Medical Center, Suarez said.
