What should have been a simple lost-and-found exchange turned into a terrifying ordeal when a Hoboken man allegedly pulled a gun on a ride-share driver, police said. It all began on Thursday, Feb. 13, when Hoboken Police responded to an incident on the 300 block of Adams Street, according to Hoboken Police Chief Steven Aguiar. A 40-year-old Jersey City man was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Friday, Feb. 21 for fatally stabbing a man at a Jersey City light rail station in 2022, authorities said. Man In Makeshift Shelter Found Dead In Jersey City Fire: Prosecutor
A man was killed in a fire in Jersey City on Friday, Jan. 31, authorities said. At 6 p.m., the Jersey City Fire Department responded to a fire at the 1000 block of Newark Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. After quickly extinguishing the fire, firefighters found an unidentified male in a fire damaged makeshift shelter and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Suarez said. The cause and manner of death are pending, Suarez said. The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force is investigating the origin and cause of the fire, Suarez said.

A 49-year-old Cliffwood man was found floating in the Hackensack River on Tuesday, Jan. 28, authorities said. At 4:30 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a body floating underneath the Pulaski Skyway and Bryan Linington was found floating in the water, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. : Three Dead Including Two Children In Jersey City, Mayor Says
Three people, including two children, were killed in a domestic violence incident in Jersey City on Wednesday, Jan. 29, authorities said. A woman and two children, 9 and 5, were killed by a man who then tried to stab himself at a residence on Hutton Street, Mayor Steve Fulop and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.
