Gunman, 67, Killed 24-Year-Old Victim In Weehawken, Prosecutor Says
Police have identified both the victim and suspect in a deadly Weehawken shooting this week. Jhonnier Gamboa Acosta, 24, was believed to have been shot and killed by Juan Perez, 67, on Park Avenue between 37th and 41st streets around 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Acosta was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. Man Found Dead In Hoboken Park: Prosecutor
A man was found dead in Maxwell Place Park on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 15, authorities said. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said they were investigating, along with the Hoboken Police Department. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, authorities said. Maxwell Place Park was temporarily closed due to the investigation, a spokeswoman for the City of Hoboken said.

Authorities are attempting to locate a man who they say is a person of interest in a sexual assault that occurred in West New York last month. On Saturday, July 27 at 1:30 a.m., a 40-year-old woman said she encountered a man at Hudson Avenue and 51st Street, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit said. The man then grabbed her by the hair and sexually assaulted her, authorities said. Jersey City Man Gets 17 Years For Strangling Girlfriend: Prosecutor
A 28-year-old Jersey City man was sentenced on Thursday, July 25 to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to strangling a 27-year-old woman in 2021, authorities said. Tyquan Baisden pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in May, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Woman Sexually Assaulted In West New York: Prosecutor
A 40-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in West New York on Saturday, July 27, authorities said. At 1:30 a.m., the woman encountered a man at Hudson Avenue and 51st Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The woman said the man grabbed her by the hair and sexually assaulted her, Suarez said.
