A 59-year-old Lakewood man has been charged with killing his live-in girlfriend before fleeing to Maryland, authorities said. John Filistovich was charged on Thursday, June 1 with murder in connection with the beating and suffocation of Betty Perry, 60, of Lakewood, they said. The crash took place in New Haven County around 1 p.m., Saturday, March 25 near Bridgeport Avenue in Milford. There were two armed robberies at gas stations in Hudson County over the weekend, authorities said. On Saturday, March 26, at 5:52 p.m., Kearny Police Officer Mathew Lopez was dispatched to the Citgo gas station at 1 Belgrove Drive for an armed robbery, according to Captain Tim Wagner, a police spokesman. Hyundai Driver Dies In 2-Car Crash In North Reading: Police
One person was killed in a two-car crash in North Reading this week, authorities said. Police and fire responded to the crash at Park and Central Street around 1:40 p.m. on Friday, March 3, North Reading Police Chief Michael Murphy reports. Upon arrival, officers found a collision between a Ford F-150 and Hyundai Elantra. The driver of the Elantra was taken to a Burlington hospital where they later died, Murphy said. The driver of the Ford was also taken to the hospital for treatment, Murphy added. The crash remains under investigation.
