One person died and another was airlifted in a multi-vehicle crash involving a dump truck in Anne Arundel County Thursday, Feb. 23, authorities said. A Kenworth dump truck was heading north on Solomons Island Road when a Dodge pick-up truck attempted to turn onto the roadway from Birdsville Road, county police said. The driver of the dump truck was unable to avoid hitting the pick-up, which caused the pickup to spin into the southbound land of Solomons Island Road. A pickup truck plowed through the fences of two different homes while an SUV got knocked into a driveway in a Monday afternoon collision in Montvale. Burglar Steals $34K In Jewelry From Lehigh Valley Home: State Police
A Williams Township resident was robbed of thousands of dollars in jewelry when a burglar snuck into her home early this month, according to a state police report. The victim, a 55-year-old woman, told troopers her Pine Valley Terrace home was targeted on the night of Feb. 2 at around 8:30 p.m. Investigators say the burglar used the home's HVAC system to force his way into a second-story window in the rear of the building. A police department in Montgomery County is offering free steering wheel locks to certain qualified car owners. Upper Moreland residents who drive a Hyundai or Kia between model years 2016 and 2021 can receive a free wheel-locking kit, department leaders said in a statement Monday, Feb. 13. An 88-year-old woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a car crash in Foxborough that forced police to shut down Route 140 for hours, the Norfolk County District Attorney said.
