Expect Delays: I-684 Daytime, Double Lane Closures Scheduled
Motorists traveling on I-684 may see delays as contracting crews continue daytime roadwork work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert this week advising motorists that there will be double lane closures northbound on the interstate between exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) and exit 9 (I-84) in North Salem and Southeast. I-684 Reopens After Crash Involving Dump Truck
This story has been updated. A stretch of I-684 has reopened after a crash involving an overturned dump truck and another vehicle on Thursday morning, Jan. 24. The northbound lanes were closed between Route 35 (Exit 6) in Katonah and Route 22/Route 138 (Exit 6A) in Goldens Bridge, starting at around 9:30 a.m.

Police Release Results Of I-684 Speeding Detail
Dozens of tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers during a special speed enforcement operation in Westchester County along the I-684 corridor. During the detail in Somers, which was “conducted in furtherance of (New York State Police’s) mission to ensure highway safety for all users of the roadway,” on Wednesday, Jan. 23, troopers issued a total of 60 tickets for speeding, distracted driving, and other vehicle and traffic violations on the interstate. One Extricated In Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer On I-684
One person was extricated from a van following a two-vehicle crash that also involved a tractor-trailer on I-684. The crash took place Monday morning, Jan. 21 northbound near I-287 in Purchase, said officials with the Purchase Fire Department. Personnel from Purchase, along with the West Harrison Fire Department, Harrison EMS were dispatched to scene were they extricated the trapped person, the department said. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

There were stop-and-go delays on northbound I-684 following a crash at Route 35 (Exit 6) in Katonah reported just before 4:30 p.m. Delays stretched back to Route 172 (Exit 4) in Bedford. Wegmans, which is preparing to open its first market in the Hudson Valley, is facing nearly a million dollar fine for allegedly operating five liquor stores without a proper license. The height of the road-rage incident that broke out amid gridlock conditions following multiple crashes Tuesday morning on I-684 was captured on video.
