MDTA officials issued a warning to drivers Monday morning regarding increased rush hour traffic on several Baltimore highways following last week’s Key Bridge collapse. The southeast corridor of I-695 is closed on the Outer Loop at MD 173 (exit 1) and Inner Loop at MD 157/Peninsula Expressway (exit 43). The MDTA encouraged drivers to allow extra travel times using the alternate routes on I-95, I-895 and other sections of I-695. Minivan Spins Out, Killing Passenger In Crash With Tow Truck On I-695
A 60-year-old man was killed in a Baltimore County crash Saturday morning, March 23 on I-695, police said. Sang Yoo Kang, of Severn, was riding in a minivan that spun out and struck a tow truck on scene for a separate crash on the outlet loop near Wilkens Avenue around 8:05 a.m., according to Maryland State Police. Kang was pronounced dead at the scene by Baltimore County emergency medical services personnel.
