Teens Caught With Stolen Car After Using Victim's Credit Card At Trumbull Mall, Police Say
Two teenagers took police on a foot chase through the Trumbull Mall and parking lot after being busted with a stolen Audi Q5 and using their victim’s credit cards. Investigators from the Trumbull Police Department were alerted at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, of a stolen car that had been taken out of Newington. Police said that further investigation from the Audi’s owner determined that her credit cards, which had been left in the car, had been used within the store earlier that day. Three Nabbed After Purse Snatching At Commuter Lot, State Police Say
Connecticut State Police troopers were able to track down an adult suspect and two juveniles who were allegedly involved in a purse snatching incident at a commuter lot on Route 9. Shortly before 7:45 p.m. on Sunday night, troopers from Troop H in Hartford responded to the Route 9, exit 30 commuter lot in New Britain, where a woman reported that three Hispanic men had taken her purse off her arm by force, before taking off on foot. A former Weston Police Commissioner has been arrested on a host of gun charges following a domestic dispute at his home, said Weston Police. Richard Phillips, 56, turned himself into police on Monday on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from the domestic incident at his home on March 30, police said.
